Know Exactly What You're Getting
I am Versatile
The mix of my current capabilities with the ability to quickly learn new skills and applications allows me to hit the ground running in new environments.
I am Responsible
I take on each project with the mindset of the client, the product owner, the client relationship manager, the support team, and the designer (me). I commit to projects, start to finish.
I am Valuable
I have excellent skills, accept responsibility for outcomes, and work under deadlines, which makes me quite beneficial to organizations.
I am Qualified
Beyond skills and commitment, I have a history of successfully working within creative and technical teams for the betterment of clients.

Education + Learning
I have both formal and informal knowledge.
- I graduated from the University of Kentucky in Lexington with a degree in Health Administration with an emphasis in long-term care and the required 6-month practicum under my belt.
- Next I took post-baccalaureate courses and entered graduate school to pursue a PhD in Psychology to eventually become a family and marriage therapist.
- During that time I fell in love with design software, which was only a hobby at that point. I soaked it up, fell deeper in love, dropped out of graduate school, and headed to California for on-the-job experience.

Experience in California
I learned crucial skills in a Santa Monica studio.
- I worked for a media company called Top Cow Productions in Santa Monica, CA on the famous Third Street Promenade.
- Still, I rarely saw the ocean. I worked hard over a lot of hours to become an expert in computer graphics, especially raster and vector applications like Photoshop and Illustrator.
- My primary work was in computer colors for comic books, illustrations, and 3D models. I enjoyed my time there, but eventually I moved back to Kentucky.

All Things Internet
I love all sorts of digital design projects.
- Back in Kentucky I spent time working in print design doing spot, 4C, etc. pre-press tasks.
- But I quickly turned my attention to the web, after which I designed dozens of websites with all of their accompanying graphics, images, icons, and more.
- I also learned to design for phone apps, tablet apps, touchscreen TV applications, and web applications.
- I immersed myself in user interface structure, A/B testing, wireframe and UI interaction software, and more.

Current Work
My history of creative endeavors continues.
- I am the Creative Director at Streamline in Lexington, Kentucky. It is an AI, web, mobile, and application design and development company.
- In the recent past I have designed and provided oversight on websites and apps for clients like Toyota, Alltech, Churchill Downs, Gun Violence Archive, Riley Children’s Health at Indiana University, and the University of Kentucky.
- I have a couple of decades of design experience, the majority of which is web and mobile-centric.

Going Remote
I work alone, but I'm never lonely.
- I began remote work in 2019, which was just before the pandemic. Overall it has been wonderful, and the primary benefits of this are noted below.
- Emissions: I rarely drive, so I make almost no contributions to traffic or auto exhaust.
- Paper Use: I haven’t had a printer since 2019 and have almost never needed to use paper since then.
- Office Waste: I have one office, one computer, and a trio of monitors, and there’s no need to double all of that which would be required if I worked in a traditional office setting.

Working with Me
I think the truth must be told.
- I’m an easy-going person who never causes problems with the clients I serve or colleagues with whom I work.
- I don’t curse or yell or say inappropriate things to anyone; I remain respectful and courteous.
- I’m the person others can count on—no matter the day or time—if an issue arises. That means I ensure I’m available at nearly all times to address client needs. I don’t leave others hanging.
- I’m fairly quiet and add to discussions only when I believe my input will serve the goals of the client. I avoid idle chatter at work and never engage in gossip.

People Who Know Me
“I've known Bill for many years and have worked on projects together through many of them. It's rare to find someone who is so consistent in designing projects that are 'just right' for the customers' requests. Bill doesn't worry about being competitively creative, meaning he's not concerned with awards or accolades. He designs directly and intently for the person reading or viewing his work."
